EVsmart Off-Peak Charging Credit FAQ
The EVsmart Off-Peak Charging Credit Program makes electric vehicle (EV) adoption more accessible, convenient, and affordable as our customers transition to EVs. This program helps reduce the gird impacts of EV charging by incentivizing EV drivers to shift at home EV charging to off-peak hours.
This program is only available to residential customers who receive electric supply
through Basic Generation Service (BGS) and have installed a qualifying level 2 charger in
their home from the list below.
By participating in this program, you’ll earn $0.02 per kWh plus any associated sales and use tax (SUT) for all net off-peak charging. Peak hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST, Monday-Friday.
You’ll receive these rewards twice per calendar year, totaling the net off-peak charging hours for every 6-month period.
See the chart below for eligible charging equipment. Your charger must be installed and activated with internet connectivity prior to enrollment. Your Wi-Fi connection and EV charger(s) must be connected to your EV charger manufacturer’s account.
You must have an account with your EV charger’s manufacturer to enroll in the program. If you do not have one, you will need to establish one prior to enrollment.
