Question linkHow do you communicate with my vehicle? Do I need Wi-Fi?

Communication with your vehicle will be done through its onboard telematics system, which uses a cellular signal. So, you don’t need to connect to Wi-Fi.

Question linkWill participating in the program hurt my battery or affect my warranty?

No, participating in ConnectedSolutions will not strain your battery any more than normal charging routines, and will not affect your warranty.

Question linkWill participating in an event drain my battery?

No, during peak events, your vehicle’s charging will be paused. We will not completely discharge your battery.

Question linkWhat if I’m not charging my vehicle when a peak event occurs?

That is great! Your vehicle is not putting an additional load on the grid at peak times. Although you will not earn the additional rewards if your vehicle is not plugged in during a peak event, you will still earn the initial enrollment incentive and $20 annually for remaining enrolled.

Question linkAm I eligible if I don’t have an EV or PHEV?

Unfortunately, you are not eligible for ConnectedSolutions if you don’t have EV or PHEV from a supported manufacturer. Visit our Energy Saving Programs for more ways to save.

Question linkWhat if I’m a participating in the SmartCharge Peak Time Rewards Pilot?

Unfortunately, SmartCharge Peak Time Reward Pilot participants are not eligible for ConnectedSolutions until the SmartCharge Peak Time Rewards Pilot ends.

Question linkWhen will I receive the incentive for enrolling and participating in ConnectedSolutions?

For participants who enrolled during summer 2021, you will receive an eGift card within 10 weeks of the end of season (Mid-December). You will earn incentives each time your charging is paused for at least 50% of a peak event. Pausing a level 2 charging session will earn you $20 and pausing a level 1 charging session will earn you $10.

For participants who enrolled after summer 2021, you will receive an eGift card on the anniversary of your enrollment into the program.

Question linkWhat constitutes a level 1 or level 2 charging session?
  • level 1 charging session is defined as any charging session below 1.8 kW
  • level 2 charging session is defined as any charging session above 1.8 kW
