Eversource Connected Solutions EV FAQ
Your enrollment incentive will be sent to you via mail 4-6 weeks after your enrollment is confirmed. Yearly incentive payments will be mailed to you at the end of this year and the next two years.
During an adjustment your EV will charge more slowly. However, if you need to charge more quickly you can opt out of the adjustment at any time by adjusting your charger back to its normal settings.
Depending on your EV charger provider, you will receive notification the day before an adjustment via email and EV charger mobile app where available. The notification will give you details on the timing and duration of the adjustment. If an emergency event is called, you will receive an email notification the day of the event.
Program Rules | |
Event Timing | Events can be called between 2 pm – 7 pm from June through September 30th. Events will last 2 or 3 hours and usually occur from 4 pm to 7pm. Events will not be called during severe storms. You may opt out of a Demand Response event at any time. |
Event Type | This is a Demand Response program that will lower the rate of charge of your EV Charger during event times. This is not a Time-of-Use (TOU) or Scheduled Charge program so there is no incentive for charging during off-peak hours. |
Charging Speed | During Demand Response events, your EV charger will be slowed down to no less than 1.8 kW (equivalent to plugging into a wall outlet) to reduce load on the electric grid. |
Notifications | Depending on your EV charger provider, you may receive day ahead notification for events that are called, with the exception of emergency events. |
Emergency Events | During conditions of especially heavy load on the grid, Eversource may call an emergency event. Emergency events will provide notification same-day or at the time of the event depending on your EV charger provider, and EV charging may either be slowed to 1.8 kW or completely paused for the duration of the event. Emergency events will be called no more than once per month. |
